Very beautiful and unique pewter chess set published in 1984 by Franklin Mint in collaboration with the Waterloo Museum.
The chess game concerns the battle of Waterloo, with Napoleon, Wellington and the Prince of Orange.
The pieces were created by eminent military artist Philip J. Haythornthwaite.
The figures are made of tin, the foot consists of copper and enamel.
The chess pieces are in a wooden cassette, the lid of which functions as a chessboard.
